Reader information
Disclaimer
Tealook is an independent publication. We have no affiliation with any phone carrier, government agency, call-blocking app or people-search company. When we mention the FTC, the FCC, Apple, Google or any other organization, it is as a source, and nobody there has reviewed or endorsed our pages.
General information, not advice
Our articles describe how things usually work and quote the rules as we read them on the date shown. They are not legal, financial or security advice. Rules change, carriers differ and your situation may not match our examples. If a call or message involves a threat, extortion or a risk to your safety, contact local police.
No claim to identify people
The number reader shows facts about an area code. It does not name owners, and a number appearing to come from a certain city does not mean the caller is there. Spoofing makes caller ID easy to fake.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use no cookies, analytics or advertising scripts. The privacy policy explains the short-lived server logs and how to make a California privacy request at [email protected].
Sources and accuracy
We link to agencies and phone makers because they are the primary sources, and each article shows the date it was last checked. Menus on phones change with each software version, and rules change too. If a path or a rule on our page no longer matches what you see, trust the official page and tell us so we can fix ours.
No endorsement of other services
When we describe how free and paid lookup services work, we describe patterns and not named companies. Nothing on the site recommends or rates a particular service, and any resemblance between our descriptions and a specific company's practice is not a statement about that company.
