An independent reader's guide to reverse phone lookup, data brokers and the opt-outs that work.

Reader information

Privacy policy

This policy explains what Tealook collects when you read the site, use the number reader or write to us. It is short because there is not much to collect. Last updated: October 6, 2026.

What we do not do

You do not need an account to use Tealook. The site does not set cookies. We run no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts, and we load no third-party fonts. Nothing on a page reports your visit to another company.

Phone numbers you type into the reader

When you submit a number, our server reads the digits to build the result page for that single request. We do not write the number to a database or attach it to a profile. There is one catch you should know about. The number travels in the web address of the request, so the standard logs kept by the web server contain it, together with your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, the requested URL and the time. Those server log entries are kept for about a week, through rotation every five to seven days, and then deleted. They are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, subject, message, the time of sending and a hash of your IP address. This is kept in a file on our server so that we can reply. We delete it twelve months after we respond, or earlier when you ask by emailing [email protected]. The hashed IP is used only to limit repeated submissions.

Sharing

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not pass it to data brokers. We may disclose logs or messages if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal order.

Your California rights

If you live in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information a business holds about you, to ask for it to be deleted or corrected, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still make a request. Write to [email protected], tell us what you want, and tell us enough about your visit (for example the approximate time and the page) for us to look in the logs. Requests that concern the server logs may be answered by pointing out that the entries expire within about a week. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

Children

Tealook is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us a message, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, the date at the top will change with it. Questions go to [email protected], or use the contact form. Our disclaimer repeats the Do Not Sell or Share statement in short form.

Legal bases and the cookies question in plain words

We keep what we keep for narrow reasons: logs so the site can run and so we can notice abuse, and contact messages so that we can answer you. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not combine the logs with anything else. Because the site sets no cookies, there is no cookie banner and nothing to accept or reject.

Where the information is kept and who can see it

Server logs and the contact file sit on the server that hosts the site. Access is limited to the operator and to the hosting provider's systems that run the machine. We do not move the data into an analytics tool, a mailing list or an advertising platform. If you ask us to delete a message, we remove it from the file and tell you when it is done.
